Omar Perez is a Central Florida-based travel writer. A graduate of Florida International University, he most recently served as the Caribbean contributing editor for Travel Weekly, and has written for publications including the Miami Herald, the Miami Daily Business Review, various editions of the New Times, and others.
When traveling, he prefers ackee and saltfish over scrambled eggs, and blood sausage over other types. In his downtime, he enjoys the local freshwater springs, making too much Latin food, and growing papayas in his backyard.
